Seventeen shops in Gombe town’s central market have been razed by fire in the early hours of today, Thursday
Shop owners suspect the fire was caused by electric power surge.
Although a fire station is located in the market less than five hundred metres always from the incident, there was allegedly no response until the buildings and contents were razed to ashes.
