The Government and people of Adamawa State joined the rest of the nation to celebrate Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary with colourful displays at the Mahmud Ribadu Square, Yola.
The event, which featured a parade by officers of the military, police, and other paramilitary agencies, drew a large crowd of residents, government officials, and traditional rulers.
Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, while addressing the gathering, called on Nigerians to embrace unity and patriotism as vital ingredients for building the nation of their dreams.
He emphasised that despite the country’s challenges, the spirit of togetherness and sacrifice remains the surest path to progress.
He urged citizens, particularly the youth, to channel their energy and creativity towards national development, adding that the government remains committed to security, education, and economic growth.
