Gianni Infantino want Video Assistant Referees at the 2018 world cup in Russia, if approved by the International Football Association Board.
The FIFA president said the initial signs were promising about the viability of VARs in major tournaments.
The Swiss also confirmed that VARs will be used at this year’s confederations cup.
FA chief executive Martin Glenn also threw his weight behind the use of video replays to assist match officials, saying that the English FA Cup would hopefully use VARs next season.
