Nigerians have decried the Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung’s statement that the Super Falcons’ allowances have not been paid because the Government never believed they could win the Nations cup in Cameroon.
Despite going into the tournament as defending champions and favourites, Dalung claimed their triumph in Cameroon somehow came as a surprise and the authorities were not prepared for it.

The minister describes the situation as unfortunate but says the issue will be resolved as soon as possible.
The Falcons have vowed to stay put at their hotel in Abuja until they are paid.
