The Super Falcons for the first time in over two decades defeated a European opponents as their 4-1 defeat over Romania secured a third place in the China Four-nation Invitational tournament in Wuhua.
Chiwendu Ihezuo gave Thomas Dennerby’s side the lead one minute into the interval.
In the second half, strikes from Onome Ebi, Rita Chikwelu and Ini-Abasi Umotong secured a third-place finish at the invitational tournament.

Thomas Dennerby’s team are also billed to participate in the Cyprus Women’s Cup from February 25 to March 7. Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, Hungary, Italy, North Korea, Mexico, Slovakia, South Africa and Thailand are the other nations invited to take part in the tourney
