Spanish Government has presented posthumous award to late Ambassadors Demola Seriki ‘s family
The Nigerian envoy played a significant role in strengthening the relationship leading to visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to Spain in 2022.
Both parties are optimistic that; the bilateral relations will continue to blossom in economic, political, security areas.
The Spanish Government has presented a posthumous award to the late Ambassador Ademola Seriki for his tremendous contributions to strengthening the relations between Nigeria and Spa!!.
The award was presented at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs Jose Manuel Albares and was received by his wife Wosilat Seriki and his son in Abuja.
The Nigerian envoy played a significant role in strengthening the relationship leading to visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to Spain in 2022.
Demola Seriki died on December 15th 2022 in Madrid Spain and was buried on 17th December 2022.
His death has been considered by many as a big loss to Nigeria and the diplomatic community because he had made a huge impact in his role as an ambassador.
His contributions to the growth and development of the country during his tenure as minister in different capacities are also remembered.
Demola Seriki was known for his hard work , dynamism , passion, he played a significant role in strengthening the relationship leading to the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to Spain in 2022.
At the event confirming the award, minister of Foreign Affairs Geoffrey Onyeama disclosed that; the award is evidence of the great work and tenacity the Ambassador put into promoting bilateral relations between both countries .
He also explained that; the Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs came on behalf of the king of Spain to present this posthumous National honour.
Award was presented by the Spanish Foreign Affairs minister to Demola Seriki’s wife Wosilat Seriki and his son.
The Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs Jose Manuel Albares also expressed his country’s interest in helping Nigeria is with its security challenges by providing expertise in maritime security.
