Delta monarch wanted over killing of 17 soldiers in Okuama turns self in to Police

The wanted King of Ewu, Clement Ikolo, who voluntarily surrendered himself, has been handed over to the military by the police.

The king of Ewu kingdom, Clement Ikolo who is one of the eight persons declared wanted by the Nigerian Army in connection with the killing of 17 Army personnel in Okuama has turned himself in to the police in Delta state.

He was declared wanted alongside seven others by the military authorities in connection with the killing of 17 Nigerian Army personnel in Okuama Community.

The monarch arrived the state police command headquarters at exactly 6.41pm to report himself to police commissioner, Olufemi Abaniwonda.

Before going to the police command headquarters, the king who spoke to journalists in his car explained that he is innocent.

The military authorities on Thursday released pictures of 8 persons wanted in connection with the killing of its personnel in Okuama , Delta State.

They are: President-General of Ewu Kingdom, Prof. Ekpekpo Arthur, Andaowei Dennis Bakriri, Akevwru Daniel Omotegbo (Aka Amagben), Akata Malawa David, Sinclear Oliki; a traditional ruler, Clement Ikolo Oghenerukeywe; Reuben Baru, and Igoli Ebi.

The Director of Defence Media Operations, Major- Gen. Edward Buba, who addressed journalists on Thursday in Abuja, urged Nigerians to assist the military with credible information that would lead to the arrest of the wanted persons.
