The Governor of Delta state Sheriff Oborevwori has proposed a budget estimate of seven hundred and fourteen billion Naira to the state House of Assembly for 2024 fiscal year.
The budget which is the first by his administration has 56 percent for capital expenditure with road infrastructure getting N150 billion.
Mr. Sheriff Oborevwori, who was the former speaker, appeared in the house of Assembly for the first time as governor to present the 2024 financial document for consideration.
The 2024 budget proposal shows 12% decrease for the outgoing year as it focuses on fiscal discipline. Road infrastructure gulps N150b, education gets N46.5b while Health is N18.65b.
The speaker of the assembly solicited the cooperation of MDAs for an effective process.
The outgoing 2023 budget has 75 percent performance.
