Federal lawmakers from Cross Rivers State have appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently send the name of the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen to the Senate for confirmation as Chief Justice of Nigeria.
The lawmakers were led by Senator John Enoh at a press briefing with National Assembly Correspondents.
The Senators and House of Representatives members are seeking for immediate action as the February 10 expiry deadline for the acting capacity of Justice Onnoghen approaches.
The lawmakers said it was unfair for the issue to be politicized noting that the Judiciary should not be subject to political interference by politicians.
