The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Farouk Yahaya has assured that the wave of insecurity threatening Nigeria will soon be over.

General Yahaya, gave the assurance at Third Quarter Year 2022 Veteran Affairs Seminar/Workshop organised for military personnel at the 23 Armoured Brigade.

Men from the 23 Armoured Brigade Yola, who have been busy fighting off insurgency, banditry, and kidnapping in the nation’s northeast, were present at the workshop.

The purpose of the security summit is to raise military personnel’s morale and to develop fresh approaches to containing security threats facing the country with the help of veterans of the armed forces.

The army chief, at the event, disclosed that the military are employing new tactics and innovations in its fight against terrorists.

He said the workshop is designed to tap from the experiences of the military veterans in addressing security threats the nation is confronted with.

He admitted that Nigeria is facing huge security challenges ranging from banditry in the North West and North Central, terrorism in the North East and activities of militia in the South East and South South.

The workshop is intended to strategise with retired military personnel on information sharing, specifically how to address daily kidnappings of people in their homes.

The military is also concerned about the recent attack on presidential guards and rumours that bandits are occupying striking positions in the Federal Capital Territory, and they are working around the clock to contain these threats.
