As devaluation of Naira, inflation rate continue to cause on told hardship on citizens and the Nation’ economic, the president, United Church of Christ In Nigeria Reverend Amos Kiri has called on federal the government to as a matter of urgency redouble efforts in stabilizing the economic  and help in reducing food inflation.

He says high cost of food and other commodities in Nigerian markets is another thing of great concern and a thread to the nations growth and development

This is because Majority of Nigerians have continued to battle to feed their families as required and is due to the rising cost of foods and other commodities in recent times

The Negative Development according to the cleric has posed serious challenge on the citizens causing untold Hardship

Dr. Kiri insist this is unacceptable and must be addressed as a matter of urgency to tackle hunger in the land

The HEKAN President stated this at the Ordination service of Eight Catechists to Reverends at the church Headquarters, in Kaduna

The Ordination service is to Increase the number of clerics in HEKAN for effective service delivery, reach out to the unreached and expand God’s kingdom here on earth

It is also an annual event for promotion of Pastors after undergoing series of screening, examination and orientation on the doctrine and mode of worship of the church

Reverend Amos Kiri appeal to authorities saddled with the responsibility of developing the nations Economy and price control rise to the challenge and make life easier for the common man

He noted that Nigeria has every reason to celebrate the 62nd Independence with hearts full of joy, but reverse is the case

On the frequent fund borrowing by the federal government, kiri expresses dismay as according to him the citizens are going through hard times despite the funds borrowed

“I am disappointed by the frequent funds borrowing by this administration, it is not good for the country” he said

” Imagine the Hardship the people are going through, yet the Government Continues to borrow money from other countries without any effect on the citizens” Kiri Maintained

The Christian cleric further lamented the lingering strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities ASUU

He said the face off between the Government and ASUU is long over due

Dr. Kiri appeal to both parties to shift ground to resolve the crisis in the interest of the future generation and the Nation’s Educational Sector

The Catechists ordained as Reverends are Ibrahim I. Yayock, Joseph Totoh, Benetus Yakubu Jasso, Emmanuel Ayuba, Hakila S. Darmah, others are Francis Lawan, Zakariya Ishaku, and Garba Aike

Prayers for peace, unity and development of Nigeria as well as the success and peaceful conduct of the 2023 general election were offered at the event.

The issue of Food price inflation and Economic hardship has been at the heart of complaints by Nigerians on Government performance for the last 4 years.
