The Iya Aladura General of Cherubim and Seraphim, Dr. Oluwaseye Yomi-Sholoye, has commended Governor Umar Bago’s statement on state police, describing it as a measure to curb the “excess insecurity in the country”.
She stated this during the Thanksgiving Service for the recently concluded 100-year centenary celebration of the C&S, held at Faith Mission C&S Church, Satellite Town, Lagos.
This was disclosed in a statement signed by her media aide, Idowu Oluwaseun, made available to TVC on Monday.
Yomi-Sholoye who is also the founder of The New Seraph Evangelical Ministries, commended state governors for opening their minds to the effectiveness of state police in solving the insecurity plaguing Nigeria, urging governors to intensify their advocacy for state policing.
The statement reads, “When asked about issues of insecurity in the Country, Dr. Yomi-Sholoye stated that as Seraphs, we believe in the efficacy of prayers, but she would also like to encourage and advocate for state policing to help curb the excess insecurity in the country.
“As we can see, state Governors are seeing the right direction on state policing, like Niger State Governor, Umaru Bago, said state policing will help police secure their immediate community and local areas.
Other Governors should give good support to state police, too.”
Yomi-Sholoye further urged the national assembly to support President Bola Tinubu’s vision in achieving the signing of state police into law as she encouraged the citizens of Nigeria to keep supporting the president with prayers.
“The National Assembly should support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on State Policing, which will help address the issues of Insecurity all over the country.

“The Iya Aladura General further encouraged the citizens to continue praying for the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu-led administration stating that Nigeria will be a better place for us all,” she added.

The Special Centenary Thanksgiving Service had in attendance a host of dignitaries, including Her Eminence Prophetess Dr. Marian Adeleye Akinjogunla JP, Founder and President of Faith Mission C&S Church, Rt. Rev. S.T.V. Adegbite JP, Baba Aladura Luke Babasanya JP, Royal Fathers, several other Baba Aladuras and other well-meaning dignitaries in the society.
Rt. Rev. Stephen Adegbite JP, the Lagos State CAN Chairman, Executive Secretary of The Nigerian Christian Pilgrim Commission (NCPC) and the Chaplain of the Villa said during his sermon that he is delighted to celebrate with the Cherubim and Seraphim Church and a very good friend of The New Seraph as Yomi-Sholoye.
He reiterated all that is needed as Seraphs is genuine Thanksgiving to God of St. Moses Orimolade Tunolase, who has brought the church this far, as he also pointed out the selfless services of Dr. Oluwaseye Yomi-Sholoye in fostering love, peace and unity amongst the C&S fold.
He stated that Iya Aladura General Dr. Oluwaseye Yomi-Sholoye is a blessing to the C&S Fold and Christendom in General for her unifying and philanthropic efforts in the fold and the large community.
