The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has suspended its ongoing warning strike.
It calls on the Federal Government to urgently address all outstanding issues contained in the 2009 FGN/ASUU Agreement.
ASUU President, Chris Piwuna, announced the decision at a news conference in Abuja; following an emergency meeting of the union’s National Executive Council, NEC.
The union says the suspension takes effect from midnight of Wednesday, October 22, 2025.
Mr. Piwuna warned that the union would not hesitate to resume the strike if the government fails to meet its demands within one month.
He appealed to patriotic Nigerians and stakeholders in the education sector to prevail on the government to speed up the renegotiation process of the 2009 agreement and address other unresolved matters.
