A member of the House of Representatives now aspiring to be in the Senate has dragged the Independent National Electoral Commission and his former party, New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP to court.Mark Gbillah’s name had appeared on INEC’s list for the 2023 general election as the candidate for the NNPP and the Labour Party.
Mark Gbillah is a second term member in the House of Representatives.
His first stint was on the platform of the All Progressive Congress and the second, the Peoples Democratic Party.
Things fell apart between him and the PDP in the build up to the party’s primary election and he defected to the New Nigeria Peoples Party where he hoped to actualise his Senatorial ambition.
Months down the line, he resigned his membership of the NNPP and pitched his tent with Labour Party after which he emerged as its Candidate for the Benue North West Senatorial District.
He is before Parliamentary reporters to refute a report by an online medium that he has been disqualified by INEC.

He has now resolved to take INEC, NNPP and the online television station to court over an alleged plot to scheme him out of the Senatorial race
The legislator described the news report as fake and urged INEC, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services and other relevant security agencies to beware of the apparent breach of Section 123 b and c of the Electoral Act 2022.
