Armed bandits have again abducted the village head of Rakyabu village Magaji Sa,idu, and the Chief Imam of the community Malam Abdullahi.
The duo were abducted at their residence in the village last Sunday night.
A source told TVC NEWS that the incident happened when the gunmen invaded the area with guns and other weapons to abduct residents, unfortunately, only the village head and the imam were whisked away.
Less than twenty four hours after the kidnap incident, the bandits called and demanded the sum of N5 million as ransom gor the release of the victims.
Our source adds that the community were unable to raise the said amount, but could only raise N500,000 through an appeal from the locals.
Sadly, the bandits collected the five hundred thousand naia with assurances that the kidnapped traditional and the Chief imam would be released, only for them to call and demand for the balance of N4.500,000.
Residents of the community insist they cannot afford to raise the said balance of N4.5M as majority of the locals could not harvest their farm produce due to incessant kidnap activities.
The people of Rakyabu and surrounding communities are calling on appropriate authorities to as a matter of urgency help in rescuing their village head and the Chief Imam from the hands of the bandits.
Zamfara state Government and police authorities in the state are yet to comment on the incident as at the time of filing this report.
This incident is coming twenty four hours after Defence Ministry deployed additional troop to troubled areas and a Lecturer with the Zamfara state College of Education, Maru was killed by his abductors after collecting N2M for his release.
