Two customs officers who were abducted last week by bandits in Katsina state have now regained their freedom.
They were released to the Headquarters of 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Military.
This was disclosed by the spokesperson of the 17 Brigade of the Nigerian Army, Captain Kayode Owolabi.
This comes as an ongoing intensive operation by troops on hideouts of bandits in the north west continues.
The offensive has lead to the death of more than one hundred bandits and rescue of kidnap victims in Zamfara and Katsina states.
A high-profile gunrunner has also been arrested, dangerous weapons recovered and various camps destroyed.
It is expected to continue until banditry is completely crushed and peace is restored in those states.
