The Federal Government is moving to free more than Ninety Communities are under the control of Bandits in Shinkafi Local Government area of Zamfara state.
The federal government has assured residents of ending banditry, kidnapping and other crimes in the state.
Minister of interior, Abdurrahman Dan Bazau stated this while on assessment visits to Shinkafi and Anka Emirate Councils in Zamfara State.
The Minister of interior’s visit follows a directive by President Muhammad Buhari to assess the the current security situation in Zamfara state.
Communities in the state have come under attack by bandits, cattle rustlers and kidnappers almost on a daily basis.
In recent times about Ninety Communities were attacked in Shinkafi and. Anka Local Government, and more than Twenty people were killed and others kidnapped.
Recently the Nigerian Army and the other security agencies had Launched operation Harbin Kunama and Puff Adder to support 0peration Sharan Daji to end all forms of crimes in Zamfara and other neighbouring states.
The Minister said Security agencies would change their strategy in the fight against in security in the country. He appealed to the Communities to remain calm and provide the security agencies with useful information.
Emir of Shinkafi Makwashe Isah Thanked the Federal Government for their efforts in tackling the security challenges facing the state.
