African Women Lawyers Association has urged Nigerians to prevent child molestation in order to avoid the huge cost of providing structures that will protect victims.
The group hosted a forum with the theme ‘preventing child molestation and protective measures for victims’ bringing together royal fathers, officials of the Nigerian police force, psychologists and officials of the state domestic and sexual violence response team.
Speakers at the event noted that only a collective effort between stakeholders in preventing child abuse and molestation will stem the increasing tide in cases of violence against children.
