Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, and former Vice President,  Atiku Abubakar has described as unfortunate the attack on his convoy in Maiduguri by some thugs insisting that it was masterminded by the political leadership of Borno state.

He stated this when he visited the former military president General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida in company of serving and former Governor’s Senators and former military officers at his hilltop residence in Minna.

Atiku Abubakar wondered why despite signing of peace accord by the presidential candidates such a thing could happen in the twenty first century when the world and African countries sees Nigeria as a great country.

On the lingering crisis between the PDP Presidential Candidate and G five Governor’s he said they have been engaging them and that they will continue to engage them to achieve the desired results.

Atiku Abubakar however maintained that it is a family affair and that he is optimistic they would resolve their problem before the 2023 general elections when Nigerians will see a united and very strong PDP ready to take over mantle of leadership.

He said they were in Minna Niger state to pay respect to General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida for the services they have rendered to Nigeria and that they will continue to come for blessings.

Among his entourage are Governor’s of Delta state and Vice Presidential Candidate PDP Dr Ifeanyi Okowa Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba state Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal of Sokoto state and former Jigawa state Governor Alh Sule Lamido.

Others are Osun state Governor Mr Olagunsoye Oyilola former Adamawa state Governor Mr Boni Haruna former Niger state Governor Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu and former Imo state Governor Mr Emeka Ihedioha.

Former National Security Adviser, Lieutenant General Ali Gusau, Senator Dino Melaye, Senator Abdul Ningi among others grace the occasion.
