The Nigerian Army has launched the second phase of exercise AYEMA A’ KPATUMA, also referred to as Exercise “Cat Race 2” to strengthen the fight against insecurity in Benue and other neighbouring states.
Mayowa Okunato reports Ayem Akaptuma exercise in Benue state is aimed at checkmating banditry, cultism, as well as kidnapping in the State.
Phase one of the exercise was launched in 2018. This relaunch is to consolidate on gains recorded the first time.
Officers and men of the special forces are advised to conduct themselves well during the exercise.
The Benue State government is positive the exercise will help control rising criminal cases.
Locals are asked to cooperate with the military in carrying out this exercise which commenced first November and will end on 23rd December.
