Army cadets regular course 69 complete training on leadership skills

The Nigerian Defence Academy has successfully concluded its final outdoor Field Training Exercise for Army Cadets regular Course 69 at the Citizenship and leadership training centre, Shere Hills Jos.

The exercise is an important military training activity used in ascertaining the preparedness of the Army cadets for commissioning as Officers into the Nigerian Armed forces.

The exercise Camp Highland of the Nigeria Defence Academy is designed to assess cadets’ understanding of Operations, administrative and logistic concepts.

The exercises include; Running on the bench, crawling under a barb wire, scaling a 12 feet wall, Spring Jumps, swing and regain, Pyramids, Balancing as well as Stepping among others.

It is also to test the cadets’ leadership skills, physical fitness, as well as command and control abilities, among other military competencies.

104 Army cadets of regular course 69 participated in this year Camp Highland exercise of the NDA.

Climax of the exercise which has lasted some weeks were tactical drills and battle inoculation drills.

This exposed the cadets to rigorous training in preparation for their eventual commissioning into the Nigeria Armed forces in few days to come.

Brigadier General Emmanuel Emekah, Director Military Training of the Nigeria Defence Academy, is present at the Shere Hills Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre, where Army cadets are being trained.

He told Journalist that the NDA has recently Modified it’s curriculum for regular cadet training to address the current security challenges bedeviling the Country .

This modification has brought about a paradigm shift focusing on asymmetric warfare as opposed to conventional warfare.
