The Nigerian Army has begun proceedings to court-martial 14 officers and soldiers accused of murder, kidnapping, and desertion, among other criminal offences
The General Officer Commanding Army 6 Division, Port Harcourt, Jamil Sarham who inaugurated the court proceedings in Port Harcourt, said the suspects were officers and soldiers of the division.

Major-general Sarham, added that the army has zero tolerance to indiscipline, and would never shield any personnel, no matter how highly placed from the law.
According to him, the trial was not only to prosecute the suspects but to discourage others from indulging such acts. The accused personnel are a serving Major, 2 Staff Sergeants and 11 Soldiers.
