The advise was given during an empowerment programme in Okrika, Rivers state.

Uche Okoro reports that officials of the Presidential Amnesty Program first paid a courtesy call on Amayanabo of Okochiri in Okrika Local Government Area, Ateke Tom.

They briefed the king on the reason for their visit and received the royal blessing before setting out for the main business of the day. And that was to distribute business starter packs to trained ex-agitators in the community.

Coordinators said the event is part of Federal Government’s vision to develop the Niger Delta through job creation.

To the beneficiaries this is a dream come true. They pledged to pursue honest means of livelihood for sustenance of peace in the region.

Some of the items distributed to about 100 ex-agitators include sewing machines, refrigerators and power generating sets.
