Two student associations, the National Association of Ogun State Students (NAOSS) and National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) have unanimously called for the prosecution of a social media influencer, Onajobi Adetoun, over her alleged foul and unsavoury comments against the Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun.
The student bodies equally said that the self-styled social injustice advocate and crusader must face the law over her false claims that Ogun State lacked functional ambulances.
Recalls that Adetoun otherwise known as ‘JustAdetoun’ on some social media platforms that Ogun did not have any functional ambulance that can rescue accident victims in case of emergency, attributing the death of two associates of the world boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, who died in auto crash on December 27, 2025, to unavailability of ambulances in the state.
Adetoun, in the videos that went viral on social media platforms, was also seen raining expletives and insults on the governor, accusing him of immoral acts and amorous activities.
Reacting to the development in statement jointly signed by the National President of NAOSS and the National Vice President of NANS on Inter-Campus and Gender Affairs, Olubodun Olalekan and Akinbodunse Sileola Felicia, respectively, on Wednesday, faulted Adetoun’s claims that Ogun lacked functional ambulances, describing her utterances as baseless and untrue.
According to NAOSS and NANS, the social media influencer’s claims were a deliberate and calculated attempt
to discredit and disparage the governor and rubbish the achievements of his administration.
The student bodies added their findings did not only reveal that the state has functional ambulances across the 20 local areas, they are strategically stationed at accident flashpoints to respond to emergencies.

While noting that the associations are not against constructive and factual criticisms capable of enhancing delivery of good governance, they frowned at Adetoun’s baseless outbursts on social media channels concocted to misinform members of the public and paint the state government in a bad light.
“NAOSS and NANS are not against criticisms based on facts, however, the student bodies frown at a situation where lies are concocted to mislead members of the public and paint the state government in a bad light.
“Our painstaking findings did not only reveal that Ogun State has functional ambulances both in urban and rural communities, the ambulances are strategically positioned to respond to emergencies on flashpoints along the highways.
“Adetoun allowed emotions and personal aggrandizement to becloud her reaction to the road crash that claimed the lives of two associates of the world boxing champion, Antony Joshua on December 27, 2025.
“While freedom of expression guaranteed in the Nigerian Constitution, Adetoun crossed the redline by raining expletives, insults and even curses on the governor in videos that had gone viral on social media platforms.
“The student associations condemn in totality the uncouth actions of the so-called social justice crusade, and call for her prosecution to serve as a deterrent to others who feel they can use their social media handles to defame and slander not only people in the political offices, but other citizens of the country”, the statement read.
NAOSS and NANS, however, reiterate their support for the Governor Dapo Abiodun-led administration, which according to them has continued to espouse good governance and enhance the socioeconomic development of Ogun State.
