The Akwa-Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, has introduced a Senior Citizens Bill aimed at improving care for older residents, with plans to send it to the state assembly for approval.

Eno disclosed the plans while presiding over the Executive Council meeting in Uyo on Thursday, monitored by a TVC News correspondent.

The Akwa-Ibom Governor, during the meeting, also initiated a development plan, approving dozens of projects and rolling out new social policies.

On the economy, Eno stated that the government-backed grants for farmers and traders are already showing results with increased production, business growth, and improved incomes.

There are also plans to expand rural water supply using solar-powered systems and to strengthen grassroots cooperatives to tackle poverty and boost food security.

The meeting ended with a renewed push to deliver on the administration’s development agenda and translate plans into tangible impact for residents.
