The rich culture of the people of Owo was on display, when Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye was installed as the 32nd Olowo of Owo kingdom in Ondo State.
TVC News correspondent, Ayodeji Moradeyo reports that the installation rites began in the morning at Igboroko quarters in Owo, where the new Olowo, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye was conferred with two chieftaincy titles.
It was one of the steps that he must go through, before he could be formally crowned as Olowo of Owo. The rites crippled socioeconomic activities in the ancient town, as markets were closed.
Vehicular movement was hindered within the town for several hours, as the people trooped-out to display the rich culture of Owo.
Oba Ogunoye was accompanied by Senior Omolowos and other high chiefs to Uloro, where he was formally crowned.
He was also at Okiti Asegbo, before proceeding to pick the sword of Elewuokun
Oba Ogunoye is expected to be in seclusion for the next 17 days to herald his coronation.
