Wife of the President, Aisha Buhari has called on the National Social Investment Programme to extend its services to families displaced by the bandit attacks .

It is estimated that over twenty five thousand people have been affected by insurgency and have had to seek refuge in safer places.

TVC News Correspondent, Abdullatif Yusuf reports that women are in a state of dire need, re-unite with their families at the IDP camp after being chased off their ancestral homes by armed bandits. They are consumed consumed by the fear of uncertainty.

It is estimated that over 28 communities have been attacked in Batsari local government alone within the stretch of a month.

The wife of the president, Aisha Buhari visits two of the camps in katsina and Batsari. She urges more residents to imbibe the culture of speaking out on the ordeal they have faced rather than keeping quiet.

The president’s wife also donates generously to the IDPS and calls on the officials of the national social social investment programme to
extend the programme to katsina IDPS to cushion their suffering.

Women and children are normally the most affected in terms of crises like this and it is the reason why the wife of the state governor and other
wives of some former governors endeavour to be part of the visit.

The damage caused by the activities of the bandits and kidnappers is a source of grave concern to citizens and those is in government, considering
the set back it is likely to have on farming and many economic activities if left unchecked.

Items donated include bags of rice spaghetti and other essential food items. The president’s wife was seen off at the airport by Governor Aminu Hello Masari.
