Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has approved the payment of wage award to civil servants and pensioners in the state as a measure to mitigate the impact of subsidy removal.
A Statement by the Spokesperson to the Governor, Rasheed Olawale indicates that civil servants are to get fifteen thousand naira while pensioners are to receive ten thousand naira.
The Governor said the wage award will run for six months, beginning from the month of December, 2023.

This development is sequel to the negotiation meetings and interactions with labour movement in Osun state, including the representatives of Nigeria Union of Pensioners.
The Governor believes that the gesture will spur workers in the State to be more diligent and committed to their duties.
