The Acting Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, has arrived Enugu, to flag off the special security formation to contain the rising insecurity in the South East Region.
This is in compliance with the 11th May National Security Council (NSC) resolutions, approved for a new security measures for both South-East and South-South geo-political zones.
The Security meeting which was presided over by President Muhammad Buhari, gave them the go ahead to review their security strategy to contain the insecurity menace in the Zones.
South East and South South regions have in the recent time witnessed surging security challenges, ranging from attacks on security facilities, personnel and recently attacks on the independent National Electoral Commission headquarters.
