Civic technology organisation, BudgIT Nigeria, has said 42 per cent of the N2.7 trillion capital allocation in the 2018 budget has no direct impact on Nigerians. According to BudgiT, 42.9 per cent of the capital allocation proposed by the Federal Government would go into administrative items like procurement of cars, retrofitting of government offices, trainings, consultancies, purchase of furniture and computers.
The statement from the organisation said it expected that capital projects would be solely devoted to projects with direct developmental impact on the larger population in a pre-election year.
