Ondo State governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has set up a high-power committee to oversee the transition process of Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) to come under the regulatory oversight of the Ondo State government following the expiration of the 60 days.
The committee will be chaired by an industry expert, Olatunji Ariyomo.
He is to be supported by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Energy, Johnson Alabi, who will serve as the Vice Chairman of the Committee.
Other members of the committee, are a former Regional Head of BEDC, Iyabo Adefemi, and the Director of Planning of the Ondo State Power Company (OSPC), Olumayowa Ajumobi, while the State Coordinator of the Ondo State Electricity Regulatory Bureau (OSERB), Stephen Bolawole, will serve as the Secretary.
Gbenga Akeju will represent the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) as a member of the committee, while the Benin Distribution Company has been directed to nominate a representative.
The inauguration ceremony of the committee will take place at the Governor’s Office in Akure next Monday.
