The 2024 Teqball World Championship qualifiers has kicked off in Abia state.
The inter state event has representatives from 14 states competing for honours and to select athletes who would represent the country at the world championship.
Teqball is a relatively new sport in Nigeria.
The game is played on a curved table and involves the use of other parts of the body except the hands.

Players combine their knowledge in ball juggling, sharp reflexes and a bit of tennis or table tennis to play the sport.
The just started qualifiers had singles and doubles games for men and women.
Sports authorities in Abia state are looking to leverage on theses experiences to grow Teqball.
