The Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Kogi State, Usman Ododo, has called on security agencies to release chieftains of the party who were arrested in Kogi East on Tuesday.
He made this appeal in Lokoja while speaking with Journalists.
Kogi has a reputation for inciting violence during elections.
However, the police and other security forces have been given explicit orders to guarantee that there is no violence in the off-cycle elections.
They have been quick to arrest anyone they suspect of fomenting trouble.
But the APC Governorship candidate Usman Ododo, is questioning the rationale for the arrest of APC chieftains in Kogi East, and their supporters
He insists that those arrested are noble people with no questionable character, and have no reason to engage in thuggery or other vices
He is particularly perplexed about what led to the raid on their residences and destruction of property.
He urges the Police to release the APC supporters in custody, insisting that he doesn’t breed thugs.
