The Black Stars of Ghana have landed in Qatar, two days before the start of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The West African powerhouse is competing in its fourth FIFA World Cup, having previously competed in 2006, 2010 and 2014.

Ghana is back in the global competition after missing out in Russia 2018, where France won.

The four-time African Champions has been housed in Group H against European powerhouse, Portugal, two-time World Champions, Uruguay and Asian giants South Korea.

Four days later, the Black Stars return to action against South Korea in Al Rayyan’s Education City Stadium.

Ghana will conclude their group stage campaign with a highly anticipated match against Uruguay at Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah.

The Black Stars, who failed to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, will be seeking to improve their performance in Qatar after missing the group stage at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Only three African teams have ever reached the quarter-finals: Cameroon in 1990, Senegal in 2002, and Ghana in 2010.

Ghana will be hoping to progress from the group stage at this year’s tournament.
