Kano Pillars and the Road Safety Babes have emerged champions of the men and women’s event of the 2019 Nigeria Handball Premier League.
Pillars emerged the men’s champions with an unassailable lead on the league table even before their last game against the Civil Defence Defenders
The Kano men have been crowned winners after they defeated the Defenders by 29 to 21 goals on Wednesday evening at the Mobolaji Johnson Sports Centre, Rowe Park, in Lagos.
In the women’s event, the Road Safety Babes had to dig deep to beat contenders, the Plateau Peacocks to emerge champions.
The Safety Babes defeated the Peacocks by 31 to 29 goals
The Peacocks were also in line for the title having won the first phase of the tournament earlier in the year in Abuja
