Image result for Court of Appeal AbujaThere is an unusual tight security at the venue of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal as all major roads leading to the Court of Appeal have been blocked by Police and this has caused heavy traffic in the area.

Security officials say the blockade is to avoid any disruption from supporters of parties involved in the Presidential Election Tribunal.

The tribunal is to hear the petition filed by the Peoples Democratic Party and its candidate, Atiku Abubakar today.

They are challenging the election and return of President Muhammadu Buhari by the Independent National Electoral Commission as winner of the general election held on February 23.

A week ago, The PDP had raised objection over the President of the Court of Appeal, Zainab Bulkachuwa presiding over the petition.

Meanwhile the the Presidential Election Tribunal has stood down to have a closed door meeting in the inner chamber with all counsel involved in the matter.

This meeting was as a result of the request made by the PDP and its presidential candidate, through their counsel, Levi Ozoukwu, who sought to meet with the judges in private.

All respondents did not object to the request of the petitioner.
