Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LASGEC) has arrested 24 residents, including cart pushers for allegedly dumping refuse in canals and road medians.
The suspects were apprehended by the government officials during a raid on the Itire area.
The Corps also impounded 150 waste carts during the operation.
The cart pushers and others had been charged before the Special Offences Court sitting in Ogba, Ikeja.

The LAGESC Corps Marshal, Daniel Isiofia, said the agency were informed that some residents were dumping refuse at undesignated sites.
