After one of the deadliest days for Palestinians since the conflict began, Israel’s military increased its bombing of southern Gaza overnight, as world leaders called for a cease-fire to allow aid into the besieged enclave.

In response to fears that the Israel-Hamas conflict will spread throughout the Middle East, Israel’s military said its jets had attacked Syrian Army infrastructure and mortar launchers.

The US and Russia are leading international calls for a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas to allow aid into Gaza, where Palestinians are living in deplorable conditions.

The Health Ministry in Gaza reported that 704 Palestinians, including 305 children, were killed on Tuesday, the highest toll reported in a single day since the conflict began nearly three weeks ago, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs.

Since October 7, at least 5,791 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks on Gaza.

According to the Gaza Health Ministry, more than 2,000 children are among the 5,791 people killed in Israeli attacks since October 7.

Since October 7, more than 100 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli soldiers in the West Bank, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
