Women Unite To Combat Climate Change in Africa
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Climate change continues to exert a profound impact on human life, health, and the environment, with Nigeria serving as a prime example of its effects.

From erosion to pollution and food loss, climate change has taken its toll on many parts of the country.

However, its disproportionate impact on women has drawn attention to the urgent need for solutions to address these challenges.

The impact of climate change is felt across the country with communities facing the harsh realities of floods, droughts, and environmental challenges.

But it’s women who bear the brunt of this crisis. According to climate scientists, the world is nearing an irreversible climate threshold, with less than a decade left to turn things around.

Statistics from UN Women reveal that women are 14 times more likely than men to die due to climate change catastrophes. When food becomes scarce, women lose their livelihoods, making it challenging to support their families during times of soaring prices.

This gathering of women from various organizations are united by a common purpose – finding solutions to combat climate change.

These women are not waiting for change; they’re making it happen. By supporting one another and fostering collaboration, they’re taking tangible steps towards resilience.

Climate change presents significant challenges in the country, and its impact on women demands immediate attention.

By empowering women and involving them in adaptation strategies, we can work towards a sustainable future that benefits everyone.
