Council approved memos from the ministries of labour, aviation, science and technology and communications.

Organised labour and the federal government may have reached a middle ground over the contentious minimum wage payment.

Minister of labour and productivity, disclosed that this week’s federal executive council meeting approved the financial implication of the new minimum wage.

For gas flaring in Nigeria. a solution is already at hand, that will save the environment from the deliberate open-air burning of natural gas.

The minister of science and technology said council approved the use of Methanol to mitigate the consequences of gas flaring.

Aviation safety also continues to be a growing concern in the country as the federal government says it is committed to making air transport more efficient.

The federal executive council now says, the ministry of communication will now be called, federal ministry of communications and digital economy.

This places premium on a sector that already contributes more than 13 percent to the country’s GDP.
