Residents of Uyo the Capital of Akwa Ibom State have ignored the call to take part in the nationwide protests and are going about there lawful businesses without molestation.
No signs of protest are apparent in the state capital.
A few days to the protest, the governor of Akwa Ibom State, Uyo Eno, had addressed a cross section of relevant stakeholders on the need to shelve the protest.
The day began with heavy rains that lasted for hours.
As at the time of filing this report , residents were seen going about their lawful businesses.
Markets are operational, though business operations in major streets like Nwaniba, Aka road, Ikot Ikpene road are lower than normal.
Commercial banks across the city are also not opened for regular operations with their doors locked to customers.
