The United States Special Operations Command Africa (SOCAFRICA) has commended Operation Hadin Kai for its operational progress and strong partnership with the United States in the fight against insurgency in Nigeria’s North-East.

The commendation came during a visit by the Commander of SOCAFRICA, Major General Claude Tudor, and his delegation to the headquarters of the Joint Task Force (North East) Operation Hadin Kai at Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri, on Thursday.

The visit was aimed at strengthening the existing security cooperation between Nigeria and the United States in combating terrorism and insurgency in the region.

Speaking during the engagement, Major General Tudor described the integration of United States Special Operations personnel into Operation Hadin Kai as a model of effective military partnership.

He said sustained cooperation, mutual trust and a shared commitment remained essential to achieving lasting peace and restoring normalcy in the North-East and other affected areas.

He commended the theatre command for its efforts against terrorism and expressed appreciation for the opportunity to assess ongoing operations, reaffirming the United States’ commitment to supporting Nigeria through closer collaboration in military strategy and operations.

The Theatre Commander, Operation Hadin Kai, Major General Abdulsalam Abubakar, thanked the United States Government and SOCAFRICA for their continued support, particularly the integration of US Special Operations personnel into the theatre’s operational framework.

According to him, the collaboration has enhanced the effectiveness of both kinetic and non-kinetic operations, while stressing the need for additional technological support to further strengthen ongoing counter-insurgency efforts.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening Nigeria-United States security cooperation and pledged to work together to address emerging security challenges through strengthened military capacity, counter-terrorism efforts and initiatives aimed at promoting regional stability.
