UK Prime Minister, Keir Starmer on Thursday held a press conference in Downing Street, London following escalating unrest in Southport, Harlepool and Manchester in the wake of killing of three young girls in a knife attack.

The Prime Minister addressed after a meeting with senior police officials about the widespread unrest in England.
On Wednesday evening, the Prime Minister addressed a group of police leaders amid violent events in London, Hartlepool, and Manchester. A demonstration in Aldershot resulted in a heated standoff with riot police.
Rioters clashed with police in Southport on Tuesday. They attacked officers and set a van on fire.
That followed the fatal stabbing of three children in the Lancashire town on Monday. A 17-year-old boy has appeared in court today charged with three counts of murder, 10 counts of attempted murder and possession of a bladed article, in relation to the attack.
Starmer said this afternoon that “action will be taken” after “violent disorder” in parts of England in the wake of the Southport stabbings.
The PM summoned police chiefs to Downing Street on Thursday.
Starmer said the riots in reaction to the stabbings in Southport are “not protest” and “not legitimate”. He vowed not to permit a “breakdown of law and order”.
