Seven people were killed after a van and a truck collided on U.S. Highway 20 in Idaho.

The crash occurred close to Henry’s Lake, about 20 miles east of Yellowstone National Park.

Troopers with Idaho State Police responded around 7:15 p.m. on Thursday to find that a Dodge Ram pickup and a Mercedes passenger van had collided.

The van was operating as a tour vehicle and had 14 people onboard, and there was one person in the truck, police said.

The van caught fire following the crash.

Six people in the van and the driver of the truck died, police said.

At least 16 patients were treated on the scene, with the severity of the injuries requiring at least one air ambulance.

U.S. Highway 20 was closed for approximately seven hours while first responders cleared the scene, police said. The road has since been reopened.

Police are investigating the cause of the collision.
