Two suspected armed robbers die from gunshot wounds in Delta

Two suspected armed robbers have died following injuries sustained during a gun battle with personnel of the Police Patrol team in Otu-Jeremi, Ughelli south local government area of Delta state.

According to the Police Public Relations officer, Edafe Bright, the team received information that four suspected armed robbers who had earlier snatched two vehicles abandoned them at Otokutu community due to suspected mechanical faults and were escaping in a tricycle.

The team chased the hoodlums but the gang on sighting the police team opened fire on them and in the ensuing gun battle the hoodlums were forced to abandon the tricycle. Two of the hoodlums escaped and ran into the bush while two others were fatally wounded and found in the tricycle with gun shot injuries and later died in the hospital.

Two Ak47 rifle, a cash sum of two hundred thousand naira, gold jewelries were recovered.

The police in Delta also found a 13 year boy, Kachukwu Sunday who was wandering along Abraka Orogun road by the State Anti-kidnapping and Cyber crime squad in Asaba.

The boy is from Agu Achara community in Ishielu Agba Local Government of Ebonyi State.

The police say anyone with useful information on how to locate the boy’s parents or guardian should contact the office Police Headquarters, Asaba Delta State for identification.
