Two persons have died, following a heavy rain and windstorm that destroyed homes and farmlands in Gada local government area of Sokoto state.
Many people are now homeless, as a result of the storm, which is one of the deadliest residents have witnessed in the area.
A resident told us on the phone that the affected region is close to Niger Republic, and therefore exposed to the environmental hazards of the Sahara Desert.
