Two confirmed dead as unknown gunmen attack villages in Sokoto

Two persons have been confirmed killed and another two kidnapped by suspected armed bandits in some villages in Sokoto state, a source revealed to TVC News.

Muhammadu Bello Aliyu informed TVC News via a telephone conversation that  the unknown gunmen invaded Kabutta village under Dantasako in Shinaka district, Goronyo local government area of Sokoto state and killed one Muhammadu Maude.

Aliyu who is also the Sarkin Rafin Dantasako added that after killing, Maude the suspected bandits kidnapped the deceased’s neighbour. a woman and her son, a toddler.

He further narrated that the bandits moved to the neighbouring village of Gamaroji in Isa Local government area of Sokoto state where they also attacked and killed one Alhaji Garba Gamaroji who was earlier kidnapped but was freed after a ransom of eight million naira was paid.

A highly placed source within Goronyo local government who pleaded anonymity also confirmed the incident to TVC News.

Our correspondent also contacted the Sokoto state police Command, and the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO, Cordelia Nwawe confirmed the incident.

Nwawe said officers are on the trail of the suspects and assured residents of their safety as she says the police will leave no stone unturned to get at the culprits.
