Troops of Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have recorded major breakthroughs in counter-terrorism operations in Adamawa State, arresting eight suspects linked to the network behind the Gamboru Market Mosque suicide bombing.
The coordinated cordon-and-search operation was conducted in the early hours of 5 January in the Yan Lemo area of Mubi South Local Government Area, following sustained intelligence surveillance on identified locations.
During the raid, troops apprehended eight individuals, including two principal suspects believed to be key facilitators in the suicide-bombing network.
A search of their residence led to the recovery of cash, mobile phones, identification documents, ATM cards, jewellery and other personal items, which are currently undergoing forensic analysis.
Military sources disclosed that a suspect already in custody identified the two principal suspects as individuals who supplied materials used in assembling the improvised explosive device (IED) employed in the mosque attack.

Other occupants of the residence were also linked to the network during preliminary investigations.
All suspects are now in military custody for further interrogation before being transferred to relevant authorities for continued investigation.
In a related operation on 4 January, OPHK troops intercepted suspected terrorist logistics at Mayo Nguli in Maiha Local Government Area.
The operation led to the seizure of 45 jerrycans of Premium Motor Spirit — about 1,125 litres — believed to be destined for terrorist use.
The suppliers fled on sighting the troops, abandoning the fuel, which has been taken into military custody.
No casualties were recorded.
The military said the operations underscore its resolve to dismantle terrorist networks, disrupt logistics supply chains and prevent future attacks across the North-East.
Residents were urged to remain vigilant and continue providing credible intelligence to support ongoing security efforts.
