In a series of coordinated operations carried out between September 22 and 27 across Borno and Adamawa States, fourteen (14) terrorists have been neutralised by troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI, with cache of weapons and explosives recovered.

According to military sources, the troops eliminated 11 terrorists during offensive operations on Saturday, September 27 at Loskori Kura in Mafa Local Government Area of Borno State

The troops were also reported to have recovered four AK-47 rifles, assorted ammunition, hard drugs, and other military items.

That night, the troops further killed a terrorist during an operation in Konduga Local Government Area of Borno State, further weakening militant presence in the area.

The strike came hours after a large cache of urea fertiliser—a key ingredient in making improvised explosive devices (IEDs) was uncovered in shops at Mubi Central Market in Adamawa State.

Earlier in the week, on September 22, troops neutralised a Boko Haram scout near Kolori Karumi, west of the Alau Dam, also in Konduga.

On September 24, a fighting patrol in Zar Village, Hong LGA, recovered an AK-47 rifle, while in a separate operation at Forward Operating Base Magumeri, troops intercepted another rifle from two suspected kidnappers attempting to flee the area.

In one of the week’s key engagements, soldiers at Forward Operating Base Azir in Damboa successfully repelled a coordinated insurgent attack on September 25. One militant was killed in the firefight, and troops recovered three AK-47 rifles along with IED-making materials, preventing potential future bomb attacks.

In continued efforts to cripple the insurgents’ logistical networks, troops on September 27 also seized 20 jerricans of smuggled petrol (PMS) along the Fillin Ball–Gella Road in Mubi South.

The smugglers abandoned the fuel during a surprise patrol, suggesting the consignment may have been intended for terrorist use.

The Military High Command commended frontline personnel for their courage, vigilance, and operational success, reaffirming its commitment to maintaining relentless pressure on terrorist elements and safeguarding communities across the Northeast.
