President Bola Tinubu has sent warm congratulations to the Comptroller-General of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), Dr. Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, on the occasion of his 60th birthday.
In a statement on Monday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President celebrated Adeniyi’s milestone and acknowledged his many years of dedicated public service.
Tinubu praised the Customs chief for his hard work, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to national development, describing his career as one marked by excellence and integrity.
The President prayed that God Almighty would continue to grant Adeniyi good health, renewed strength, and wisdom as he continues to serve the country in his current capacity.

Since assuming office as Comptroller-General, Adeniyi has implemented several reforms aimed at repositioning the Nigerian Customs Service for greater efficiency and improved performance.

Under his leadership, the NCS has recorded significant progress in revenue generation, strengthened community relations, and enhanced trade facilitation with other countries.
President Tinubu particularly commended Adeniyi for transforming the Customs Service into a more globally competitive institution.
He noted that these achievements contributed to Adeniyi’s election in June 2025 as Chairman of the World Customs Organisation (WCO), a development that brought honour to Nigeria and Africa.
The President applauded the Customs boss for providing inclusive and dynamic leadership at the international level and for positively projecting the image of the country.
Tinubu expressed confidence that Adeniyi would continue to build on his accomplishments and sustain ongoing reforms in the Nigerian Customs Service.
